RailsConf Recap

Avi has done a nice recap of our RailsConf MagLev presentation over on his blog, Really worth a read.

I’ve been thinking about starting a blog for quite a while. Now that I have at least one good reason, I suppose it’s time.

That reason would be MagLev. I’m the guy from GemStone that was sharing the stage with a master of software prestidigitation, Avi Bryant. Avi’s been elemental in convincing GemStone that MagLev is something that is, simply put, the right thing to do.

The audience was great, the questions right on target, and nearly all present were very positive about what we presented. And the Ruby Ale afterwards was tasty. And the reactions in the RoR community have been really, really positive.  

I’m looking forward to seeing the whole story unfold, and am thrilled to be a part of it. Stay tuned, I’ll be back with more over the next few days and weeks.

BTW, the presentation was videotaped, I’ll post a link to it here as soon as it’s available.
